"Zimbabwean Human Rights Activist and Lawyer Munyaradzi Gwisai and 45 of his colleagues and students were arrested at the Centre for Labour Law in Harare during a lecture and discussion about the events in Egypt on Saturday. As of Wednesday morning they are still detained. No charges have been laid. The reports so far state that they have been tortured, refused access to their lawyers, refused access to medical treatment including vital medication for those in need. Support is needed for those detained as well as their families. One of the detainees underwent two major brain operations before Xmas in Johannesburg and is still in a delicate state, it is believed that she has been tortured along with the other detainees during interrogation. The detainees are being represented by the Zimbabwean Lawyers for Human Rights, Dırector Irene Petras."
